Description
Deramaxx is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) typically used to control pain and inflammation related to osteoarthritis in dogs. It may also be used for postoperative orthopedic or dental pain.
Side Effects
Deramaxx is usually well tolerated but may cause vomiting and diarrhea. Too much Deramaxx may cause dark or tarry stools, yellowing of the gums or whites of the eyes and incoordination or behavioral changes.
Precautions
Deramaxx is only FDA approved for use in dogs.
Do not give your dog Deramaxx with any other anti-inflammatory drugs such as corticosteroids or other NSAIDs.
Use with caution in dogs with impaired liver or kidney function.
Do not use in dogs less than 4 months old or who are pregnant or lactating. Safety has not been established.
Dosages smaller than 12.5 mg should not be achieved by splitting larger tablets.
Do not use this medication in animals that are allergic to any of its ingredients.
